 What is Solar Energy? 

Solar energy is a method of harnessing the suns energy and converting this immense natural energy source to electricity using solar panels, with the object of not just saving money but saving the environment too.

Vision Nw Ltd provide a solar photovoltaic (PV) panel solution to generate electricity and connect into the national grid, offering users both maximum energy and cost benefits. The electricity generated from PV solar panels is automatically used to power your appliances around the home thus avoiding the cost of purchasing from your supplier and any surplus is exported to the grid, so a PV system benefits all year round.

A solar PV panel consists of cells of one or two layers made from a semi-conducting material like silicon. When light shines on the cell it creates an electric field across the layers, causing electricity to flow. The electricity flows through a cable and is collected at a central point often located in your roof space. The electricity is then converted from a direct current (DC) to an alternating current (AC) and carries on into your home for you to use. If you don't use all the electricity that you have generated it will be fed into the National Grid automatically.

In April 2010, the government announced the Feed in Tariff (FIT) for Solar Photovoltaic Systems (PV) to assist you, the homeowner, to produce and use free electricity, in turn making you a significant saving on your electricity bills.

For every unit of electricity generated you will be paid 43.3p, tax-free, index-linked and guaranteed for 25 years (rates decreses from 4kW systems upwards), generating savings of up to £1870 per year from a 4kWp system, an attractive return of 8-10%!

In April 2012, for new installations, the agreed FIT will drop significantly, therefore now is the time to act to ensure the highest rate FIT for the 25 year period.

Solar PV installation can reduce your electricity bills massively. By generating solar electricity, you can power your house, eliminating the need for much of the power you may ordinarily have had to purchase from a supplier. This will become more important as utility bills are expected to increase by up to 60% every year for the next decade.

Solar PV installation can add around 10% to the value of your house, by making your more energy efficient and cheaper to run.

What are the environmental benefits?

This is completely renewable form of energy resource and therefore there is no room for worry, when it comes to its reservation. The restoration of energy has to be done during the day for obvious reasons of availability of sunlight in the day

It is not at all a polluting element, like fuels, gas and oil. The use of a solar panel does not cause the emission of greenhouse and other harmful gases. As a result, the ecosystem’s health is maintained, which is otherwise spoilt because of the dredging and spilling of fuels and oils.
